A2 Music Video

The choice of song to complete our A2 music video to has been the topic of debate for a while now. After many discussions I think we as a group have finally come to an agreement that 'The Kinks- All Day and All of the Night' is the song we've chosen.

Mine and Georgia's reasons for wanting to do this song is firstly that this song does not have an official music video due to the age of it (1964), unlike more modern songs such as One Direction- Kiss You, that we used for our preliminary task. We see this as a positive, as we feel that creating a music video to a song that already has an existing and perhaps popular music video isn't a wise choice, as you would forever be comparing your own work to the original. Personally this is how I felt during the filming and editing of our preliminary task.

By us choosing this much older song with no official music video, it allows us to develop a media piece that is original and cannot be compared to something already recognised by a mass audience. Also in terms of editing; we believe that this song allows us to apply a range of useful editing techniques to suit the genre and the decade that the song was made. Such as giving it a vintage polaroid effect or heavy colour grading etc. We understand that this song's genre and style is a drastic change from our preliminary task, but we feel confident in our choice in order for it to be a successful one and do the song justice.
